Christmas Movie Guide

Staff Reporter Rowan Gast-Bray
There are only a few days left of school, and everyone is excited for Christmas Break. However, there is a now an open span of time which used to be consumed by school and studies. Here at The Fetch, we believe a great way to fill large gaps in your free time is to go to the movie theater. There are many new releases that will surely tantalize your senses.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is due out next week. It is the third and final installment of the Hobbit series. There will be epic action and special effects guided by an interesting plot. This is sure to be a big blockbuster hit. The Interview is a racy new comedy with an interesting concept. Two people have been given the chance to interview North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il. Seizing a golden opportunity, the CIA asks these two amateurs to assassinate him.
Unbroken is an endearing film of survival. WWII veteran and Olympian Louis Zamperini was stranded after his plane crashed over the Pacific and fought a heroic battle of endurance to make it home. This is inspired by true events.
Check out some other intriguing movies to watch over Christmas break.
Happy Holidays from The Fetch!

Mrs. Gast-Bray's French 2 class completed their Christmas project yesterday. The students prepared many snacks as well as desserts. Some of the highlights included a Buche de Noel, chocolate truffles and frozen fruit salad. There were other delicacies such as mousse, spaghetti, cookies and baguettes. All in all, it was a memorable cultural experience.

The Fetch is happy to report that no animals were harmed in the tallying of these results. It appears that most Fetch readers consumed no turkey over Thanksgiving break. This is just one more reason to invite Fetch readers to all of your holiday celebrations.

Veterans Day

Staff Reporter Rowan Gast-Bray
The Veterans Day banquet was an outstanding success! Although we can never fully repay the sacrifices they have made, we gave a valiant effort in making the veterans who attended feel appreciated. There was a hot meal with sweet rolls, gravy and a delicious cupcake. There were speeches, tributes and prayers all in honor of our veterans. The band and choir both gave fantastic and patriotic performances. The most moving scene, however, was during the playing of Taps. The room was silent other than the majestic sound of the trumpets. Many of the veterans slowly began to stand, and several people began to shed tears. I would like to thank all the veterans for their attendance!

Football Behind the Scenes
Posted on 11:24 by kajal singh
I think everybody in our school knows how talented the football team is. They are fifth in the state and are rolling into sectionals with steam in their sails. Local newspapers can tell you that. But, here at the Fetch, we want you to know the football team in a different way, on a much more personal level.
We do not choose to report all of the ins and outs of the team, but we can tell you some interesting things. The linebacker chant is a compelling mantra that goes something like this. Who are we? Bulldogs
What do we do? Hit
How do we hit? Hard
When do we hit? All darn day
And when they are not destroying other teams, the Bulldog football players enjoy goofing around. One funny story included Chase Cope flexing after making a big hit. Many people also cite Trevor Ellis, senior running back and safety, for some of the best comedic relief. However, this goofy team is undeniably talented, and we need to make sure to cheer them on in the tournament.

Ralph & Ava's
Posted on 05:58 by kajal singh
Staff Reporter Rowan Gast-BrayThere is a homey hole in the wall sandwich place that has slipped under the radar of too many people. Ralph and Ava’s is a small restaurant located on Main Street in downtown Mooresville, just two shops down from Tri County Sports. When walking in, your first impression is that you have stumbled into a stranger’s living room by accident. Once you push on, the room is adorned with local art and mismatched chairs and tables. However, you are welcomed by a competent staff. You are presented a menu with a wide array of wraps, soups and sandwiches, all for under eight dollars. There are many vegetarian offerings in addition to the carnivorous sandwiches piled high with lunch meat. I chose the pretzel melt, a buttery pretzel bread concoction with your choice of cheese and meat. That was undeniably scrumptious and brought out in less than ten minutes. In short, Ralph and Ava’s has great food, great atmosphere and terrific prices. This place does not deserve to be passed by and would be a great after-school hangout. Try them out on Thursdays for trivia night. Test your knowledge for prizes. Ralph & Ava's
Spanish Cafe
Posted on 05:48 by kajal singh
The Spanish IV class put in hours of planning and preparation. Senior Erica Tharp, whose favorite Spanish word is montequilla de cacahuates, believes "planning and team work are very important" in staging the cafe.
Sophomore Cody Hunter thought "the chips and salsa are great."
Senora Dilley said, "Setting up is very stressful, so the day of the cafe is probably my favorite part."
